Postpartum Doula Services
Congratulations on your new beautiful baby! How can a postpartum doula help you during these first few weeks? What are the benefits to having a postpartum doula?
As a postpartum doula, I am there to nurture you and your new family, and help make a smoother transition to your new role as a mom. Specifically, I can:
- help you with infant care
- assist and help with any breastfeeding concerns you may have
- light housekeeping, laundry
- cook nutritious meals for you and your family
- run errands
- spend time with older siblings
- stay with baby while you shower, catch up with friends and family, etc…
- stay with baby while you and your partner have a nice evening out
- and most importantly, be there for your emotionally, someone to support you and “mother” you during your postpartum time.
As your postpartum doula, I am there to help you however I can, and to support you and your family with compassion, caring and love.
How Long Does A Postpartum Doula Stay?
This is entirely up to you. Some postpartum doulas work for one family for a week, some stay with a family for two months or more. Generally, most families employ a postpartum doula about 2 to 6 weeks. The hours are completely up to you. Whether it’s two days a week, three days, five days, or perhaps just weekends, I will work with you to find a schedule that fits with your needs. Hours worked can vary, from 3 hours, to 8 hours or more.
My Rates
My rate is $15/hour, with a minimum of 8 hours a week. Currently, I am available during weekends, evenings and overnights.
I am currently working towards my certification as a postpartum doula through CAPPA (Childbirth And Postpartum Professional Association) and will be attending a training session in Charlotte NC in June of 2007. I have been a nanny and a personal assistant for many years, to children and babies of all ages. I love being around children, and love to “take care” of families. It would be an honor to be your postpartum doula!
